Welcome to PizGloria.com. Years after this site was launched I still consider it to be "under construction", and if you're a collector like myself you'll know that a collection is never complete, so in reality this site will always be a work in progress. Presently there are over 600 different covers shown, but I always hope there are more in the post! It's taken me ages to get the site to this point, and while it's not perfect (there is still some missing text and many of the publishing years are guesses until I go back through my books) I hope to fix these issues as soon as possible. Regardless the bulk of the many different Bond paperback covers are shown, and can be viewed using the menus at the top of this screen.
The website is completely not for profit and all book covers and images shown are the copyright of their respective publishers/artists. Please contact me if I have not given appropriate credit for any images shown and I will fix this immediately.
The goal is to display all English language variant paperback covers of Bond novels that are or have been available since "Casino Royale" was first published in 1953. However I've tried to avoid cover differences based on pricing variations (eg. Pan), publisher changes (eg. Coronet/General, Charter/Berkley, Triad Panther/Granada/Grafton) and differences to cover card stock like glossy versus matte as these differences can create massive rabbit holes that suck in money, book-shelf space and time. It's for this reason I also don't collect many Bond hardbacks or try to obtain each printing/edition of a Fleming title. But I do admire those collectors who do. Basically it's "horses for courses" !
In a way this website is based on a brilliant website that unfortunately no longer exists - "Paperback Art: The Art Of James Bond", but there are a number of existing websites that have inspired me as a collector (see Links) and in some way I'm indebted to these sites for keeping my collecting passion alive.
All of the book covers displayed are owned by myself, purchased from about 1980 onward. Since I started I've found collecting Bond an interesting hobby, and hopefully this website inspires others to start their own collection, or just keep their collection up to date.
And if you are thinking of starting a collection, it's never too late. Millions of copies of Bond novels have been printed and reprinted over the years, and paperback versions are often cheap and easy to find in second-hand book stores and on the web. Also brand new hardback and paperback novels are frequently being published and re-printed so brand new sets are normally easy to find in new book stores or again online.
Recent Changes And Additions contains all changes to the site, and there's also a blog which I regularly update titled Collecting Piz Gloria.
Hope you enjoy the website, and catch the collecting virus like me,
Cheers Bazeer
